Bio

I have been teaching since 1993 with the last thirteen years teaching gifted students. I enjoy challenging young minds, and I believe that children need to learn to solve their own problems. I help students learn techniques to solve conflicts as well as how to deal with their social emotional needs. I help students understand that failure is the opportunity to learn and to regard it in such a manner. We only learn when we struggle and make mistakes. We strive to change our fixed mindsets into growth mindsets, and when we do not understand...we say, "I don't understand....yet." This encourages students to keep trying. I am married and have two daughters, Katie and Courtney.
