Purpose
Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is a program that invites fathers and father figures to volunteer in schools. During their time in the school, volunteers serve as a positive male role model for students.
How the Program Works
Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures can volunteer to serve as a WatchDOG. Volunteers are asked to commit to one day out of the entire school year. Over the course of the day, volunteers have an opportunity to serve our school in a variety of ways. WatchDOGS provide an extra set of eyes and ears in our hallways to help keep our school safe. Additionally, they have opportunities to help out in classrooms, assist students and teachers in the cafeteria during lunch, play games with students during recess and P.E., and spend time with students in "specials" classes such as art, music, ETA, and the library. Most importantly, WatchDOGS make positive connections with the students and teachers in our school community.
