Academic Team
The Academy for Academics and Arts Academic Team competes in four District sponsored academic matches throughout the city, after school. Matches are conducted in accordance with rules established by the Alabama Scholastic Competition Association. Three rounds are played between two opposing teams of four players each, with the winning team decided by highest overall point score. Substitutions are allowed. Questions are drawn from current events, the arts, history, science and mathematics. A fifth match, the District Championship, is conducted in March of each year.

How to Join / Membership Requirements:
Practices open to all students, grades 6-8, with match participation determined by performance in practice. Match participation limited by ASCA rules - three rounds are played between two opposing teams of four players each.
