Our Goal:
Our goal at Lakewood Library is to provide students with necessary information literacy skills and to help them develop a lifelong love of reading.
About Us:
The Lakewood Elementary School Library houses over 10,700 items for student and teacher checkout. Our materials are carefully selected to both support the school curriculum and inspire a joy for learning and reading in our students. The Lakewood Library is open from 8:00-3:00 each school day for classes and checkout. Tech support time is between 8:30-9:00 and 2:00-3:00 daily. Pre-Kindergarten through third grade visit the library weekly where they receive a lesson and checkout books. Our fourth through sixth grade classes visit on a flexible schedule for whole or small group lessons on library skills and digital citizenship.
Check-Outs:
Pre-Kindergarten through first may check out one book at a time. Pre-K and Kindergarten do not take library books home. Instead, the books stay with the students in the classroom for the students to use during reading time. Second through sixth grade may check out two books at a time.
Library Hours:
8:00am – 3:00pm Monday-Friday
