Bio

Hey there! My name is Emily Story and I am originally from Michigan (Go Blue). My family landed in Huntsville in 2018 and fell in love with the area. I have three rambunctious sons that keep me busy when I am not in the classroom. Hayden is 15 and Griffin is 14 and they both attend Huntsville High. Knox, the true baby of the family, is 9 and attends Hampton Cove Elementary School.

Prior to becoming a special educator, I spent the first half of my adult life working in advertising. When my son Knox was born, we identified that he was on the autism spectrum and it reignited my passion for working with individuals within the special needs community. I initially went back to school and got a Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis, and after moving to Huntsville, I decided I wanted to work with all special populations and I received a second Masters as a Certified Special Educator. We have a fantastic team of special educators here at Grissom and we work hard as a team to ensure that our students make progress towards transitioning to the next phase of their lives, post high school. I am so excited to continue to grow my family of students each year and I look forward to working with your kiddo. #onetiger
