Lee E-Sports Team Wins National Competition

Lee High School has been chosen by Generation Esports as one of the winning schools of the 2022 Learn and Build STEAM (LABS) program! Only 15 high schools across the nation were selected as winners. With support from AMD, the LABS program supplies 25 esports labs to middle schools, high schools, and colleges across the continental United States to help integrate esports into their communities, providing amazing opportunities for their students and educators.
As a result of winning, our E-Sports team will receive everything they needed to equip our very own scholastic esports club including thousands of dollars of new computer equipment. As a part of the LABS program, the students will also be taught how to build the very computers the E-Sports team will be using. In addition to equipment, Generation Esports, in conjunction with the High School E-Sports League (HSEL), will award Lee with a school-wide unlimited game pass for the Fall and Spring major, which opens doors for as many new students to explore E-Sports as possible.
Lee HS E-Sports sponsor Mr. Rominske said “It is incredible that we have been given this opportunity to grow E-Sports here at Lee. I am so grateful they chose us and hope that we can continue to grow this new sport and community to lift, empower, and engage all who are involved. This new lab means the world to me and the kids on the team. I started E-Sports last fall with just a hope that it would be something. Now that we will have an E-Sports lab we are more than just a dream. We are an organization.”
