Bio
Laura Wadsworth Carter is a native of Oxford, Alabama, and is a graduate of the University of Montevallo. She is married to a fellow teacher and has a son, who is a student at the Academy for Academics and Arts. When not teaching teenagers or spending time with her family, Ms. Carter is in a perpetual state of planning her next road trip or writing her next kidlit book. She has two forthcoming STEAM-oriented picture books that will be published in 2022 and 2023 by Familius Press.

Experience
After receiving her Masters in Secondary Education from Montevallo in 2009, Ms. Carter spent a year working at Earlyworks followed by several years substitute teaching for Madison County Schools. She taught US History at Sparkman High School and Modern World History at Sparkman Ninth Grade. In 2015, she transferred to NCTHS, where she currently teaches Honors US History 10, AP US History, and Dual Enrollment US History (HIS 201/202) through Calhoun Community College.
