The Academy for Academics and Arts Visit 5th grade Students

You’ve heard of the Everything Bagel, right? Well, we’ve got something here in the Huntsville City School System that can be likened to that delicacy! The Fifth Graders of MLK welcomed an AAAmazing group of people today! Sixth grade teacher, Mrs. Asia Hester and two of her eighth-grade students, Kennedi Norwood and Patrick Hereford, captivated the scholars with information about all of the academic opportunities and creative arts available at The Academy for Academics and Arts. Scholars were told about the music, theater, dance and media arts programs offered at AAA. Scholars were on the edges of their seats while listening to the eighth graders talk about things like Show Choir and groups like STARS. “You get to travel to other cities to sing and dance?” one scholar inquired. “Wow!” another interjected. Wow, indeed! What really excited the scholars was the announcement about AAA’s “soon-to-be-mounted” stage play, “Mr. Grumpy’s Toy Shoppe”, and the fact that their ENTIRE school is a part of the show! Lights! Camera! Action! Do you think MLK’s Fifth Graders are getting ready for their close-ups?
