GSES Student Council

Student Council has (5) goals:

1. LEADERSHIP- to develop and promote positive leadership among our students
2. DIVERSITY- building awareness, respect, and value for all people
3. ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT- encouraging all students to strive for academic excellence
4. SCHOOL/ COMMUNITY/ WORLD INVOLVEMENT- building a partnership with school, community, and world outreach through service
5. SCHOOL SPIRIT- creating activities for campus pride, teacher appreciation, and student character building activities

GSES Student Council also participates in a recycling program called GSES Green Team.

How to Join / Membership Requirements: 

3rd-5th grade students serve as members of Student Council. Any and all students are encouraged to apply for their class representative. Applications will be delivered to classrooms in the month of August. Class representatives are decided by an election in each room at the end of August. 5th grade class representatives may run for an officer position if they so choose. The officer positions are President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. For the date of the election please see the PTA yearly calendar.
