Bio
Greetings! It is my honor to serve as the Reading Specialist at Highlands Elementary. I am a Georgia Peach from the city of Atlanta! I enjoy movie nights with my husband and two sons, traveling, playing Sudoku, and spending time with family. My philosophy of education is "Every student can learn, just not in the same way.” Each child is a unique individual who needs guided instruction that will address the needs of their learning style. It is my desire as the Reading Specialist to meet those needs by collaborating with teachers to develop strategic lessons that enrich the reading curriculum. I believe the key to reading success is being student-focused and data-driven, coupled with setting goals and solving problems, our students can excel to their fullest learning potential. I believe all students are gifted readers; they just open their gifts at different times. SOAR HAWKS!
