My name is Paula Newman. I have been a School Counselor with Huntsville City Schools for many years. I am privileged to get to know every student. All students attend a guidance lesson every other week. The lessons focus on academic, career, and personal/ social development. I believe every student should feel safe and happy at school. Students need a warm nurturing environment to feel secure and foster learning.

I attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and received a Bachelor’s of Social Work. A Masters of Arts in Counseling was then received from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Alabama. I live in the Owens Cross Roads community and have three children of my own.
