Experience
I have been a member of the Huntsville City Schools family of educators for twenty-three years. I have done many things in my life and held many titles, which I believe have prepared me for this next level of growth and opportunity. My first real experience of teaching begin at J.O. Johnson High School where I was an English teacher for several years, and then I transferred to Westlawn Middle School where I taught English, and soon after, I became a literacy coach at Westlawn and was trained through the Alabama Reading Initiative managed by the Alabama State Department. This position prepared me for the role of curriculum specialist at Westlawn Middle School and Davis Hills Middle Schools, respectively, before becoming a counselor with Huntsville City Schools. I have been a counselor now for seven years.
