Bio
Greetings Jemison High School Family! I am Tyrone Jones, the proud Dean of the College Academy at Jemison High School. I grew up in Carrollton, a small town in West Alabama. After attending the University of Alabama, I began my teaching career 23 years ago as a 7th grade Language Arts teacher in Tuscaloosa. Since then, I have taught English in grades 8-12 as well as Freshman English at a junior college and two 4-year universities. I also served as a middle school assistant principal and an elementary school principal.
I am excited about my work at the College Academy. I have been fortunate enough the help students transition through the early teenage years and into adulthood, and I look forward to supporting our students as they grow, develop, and make important choices about the direction of their lives. I look forward to partnering with you to maximize the great educational opportunities we provide for our students.
