National Junior Honor Society
Membership in the National Junior Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a middle school student. During the second semester, 7th and 8th grade students who meet the national requirement of having a cumulative average of 85 or higher are designated for possible membership into the National Junior Honor Society, Williams International Baccalaureate Middle School Chapter.

How to Join / Membership Requirements:
NJHS at Williams carries three steps to receive an invitation to join:
Step 1 – a cumulative average of 85 or higher beginning in the 6th grade until the end of the first semester of the 7th or 8th grade year.
Step 2 – the NJHS faculty committee will explore the proposed candidates Bloom Referrals for behavioral considerations. Bloom referrals which appear to have extenuating circumstances will be investigated with the student involved, referring teacher, and the administrator who facilitated the referral, for a determination of inclusion.
Step 3 – teacher evaluation. Candidates are evaluated by their four core teachers and one elective teacher of their choice.Evaluations consider the following areas:
The teacher evaluation is based on the HCS National Junior Honor Society rubric and the four tenants of NJHS which include: leadership, service, character, and citizenship.
Candidates who remain after step 3 is complete are issued an invitation to become a member of the Williams IB NJHS chapter and participate in the induction ceremony.
Once inducted into NJHS members are required to complete up to ten hours of service within our organization, continue to meet the NJHS standards, attend meetings, and participate in NJHS service projects and functions.
