I am a Louisiana native and retired Army officer. I have been married to Raquel Duthu for over 27 years and we have four children - Madisyn, Wyatt, Tatum, and Cal. I really enjoy staying fit through gym and sports activities, and have coached football, basketball and baseball for nearly 20 years. I also enjoy watching movies and traveling on family vacations. I enjoy teaching because it gives me the opportunity to give back to my community and make a difference in the lives of students.

I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Defense Artillery from the United States Military Academy in May 1993 and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in November 2013.
Assignments: Lieutenant (Fort Hood, TX) - Avenger Platoon Leader, Battery Executive Officer, Assistant Logistics Officer and Battalion Special Projects Officer. Captain (Schofield Barracks, HI and Fort Bliss, TX) - Division Current Operations Officer, Assistant Battalion Training Officer, Air Defense (PATRIOT) Battery Commander, and Associate Professor of Military Science.
